What is the scheme about?
The Tom Pendry University Scholarships offer the benefit of a university education to local students who due to lack of necessary funds might otherwise be denied the opportunity.
The scholarships will support each selected student financially to a maximum of £2,500 per annum for up to four years subject to any “other income” received by the student (as defined by current Government rules).
To be eligible for nomination, students must be studying in a school or college operating within the ambit of Tameside Education Authority and must also live in Tameside.
